LMIA is an employer driven process and employer must advertise for the job position in Job bank and additional job sites for specific period of time.
Recruitment
Employer should conduct thorough process of recruitment and giving opportunity to Permanent residents (PR) and Canadian citizens first.
LMIA application
A detailed LMIA application with supporting business information and recruitment process conducted by employer is submitted to ESDC Canada for approval. Employer can apply for LMIA with support to Permanent residence (PR).The PR support can help you get additional points for job offer after one year of Canadian experience.
Work permit application
Potential foreign worker can be identified in LMIA document or can be selected later after LMIA is approved. Upon approval of LMIA, foreign worker can apply for work permit.
