Start-Up Visa
This Business Immigration Program targets entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that are innovative, can create jobs for Canadians, and can compete on a global scale.
Additionally, it needs that applicant must get a support for idea from one of the designated organizations, to qualify.
Key Requirements
Have qualifying business
The business must be in Canada and applicant/s must provide active and ongoing support for the business. Up to 5 applicants can apply as business owners. Each applicant hold 10% or more voting rights attached to the share of corporation. Additionally, all applicants and designated organization must have more than 50% or more voting rights.
Get a letter of support
Applicants get letter of support from designated organizations which includes Venture Capital funds, Angel Investor groups and Business Incubators. Venture capital groups must invest min $200,000 ,where as Angel investor must invest min $75,000 and there is no investment requirement for Business Incubators.
Meet language requirements
Applicant must meet the minimum level of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in either English or French in all four areas i.e. speaking reading listening writing.
Have settlement funds
Each applicant must give proof that they have the money to support themselves and dependents after you arrive in Canada. The amount depends on size of the family.
