About Us
The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates who wish to work and live in one of Canada's four Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland and Labrador. This employer-driven program assists these provinces in hiring qualified candidates for jobs they have been unable to fill locally.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AIP, you must:
Work Experience
Have at least 1,560 hours of work experience in the last five years in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER category 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 occupation. This experience can be gained inside or outside Canada.
Education
Possess a Canadian high school diploma or an equivalent foreign credential. If your education was completed outside Canada, you need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to confirm its equivalency
Language Proficiency
Meet the minimum language requirements, which are Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 for NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 jobs, and CLB level 4 for NOC TEER 4 jobs. You must submit valid language test results from a designated organization
Proof of Funds
Demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself and your family upon arrival in Canada, unless you are already living and working in Canada with a valid work permit.
